The Victorian Era (1837-1901) was the "golden age" of personal accessories and pill boxes were part of that tradition. No self-respecting lady of breeding would have been without one in her purse. In today's world, pill boxes usually serve a more utilitarian purpose, but as the boomer generation ages and they increasingly take medications, many are now using fine silver and antique pill boxes for their collectable value and the pleasure of using beautiful objects in everyday life.

Today, these little gems are popular among collectors who prize their workmanship and beauty. I believe the market for collectible pill boxes has yet to realize its potential and great bargains can be found by savvy collectors who believe, like me, that fine pieces will soon see a huge jump in prices.
